To promote the advancement of dermatological research through collaboration among researchers from various fields, KSID provides annual funding of 5 million KRW for a total of two years to skin research groups. These groups must include at least five researchers specializing in basic medical sciences, such as non-MD PhDs or equivalent, and must have at least one KSID regular member under the age of 45. The funded groups are required to present their findings at least once at an academic conference designated by KSID.
